Jad Mubaslat

Founder, BitQuick

Jad Mubaslat is an entrepreneur and software developer who has been passionate about Bitcoin and blockchain technologies for several years.

Jad founded BitQuick.co, the first cryptocurrency company in Ohio, while attending The Ohio State University in 2013. The Bitcoin trading platform was accepted into leading Bitcoin accelerator, Boost.VC in 2014 and simultaneously received investment from Tim Draper. BitQuick.co was later acquired by Athena Bitcoin Inc, a Chicago Bitcoin ATM company, in 2016 after growing BitQuick to transact over $1.6M in trades each month. Since then, Jad has remained an active advisor to the company, organizes a meetup for blockchain in the Dayton area, and continues to stay engaged in the blockchain community.

Jad received his BS in Biomedical Engineering in May, 2015 and will complete his master’s thesis in Industrial and Human Factors Engineering in 2018 at Wright State studying blockchain applications in healthcare. His research involves using agent-based modeling to simulate the mechanics of the Bitcoin blockchain, and to also simulate a model of a proposed blockchain-based care coordination application.
