Rick Baron is an experienced Chief Financial Officer and Board Member serving both Medical Device and Biotech companies.

As a senior executive within the Medical Device industry, Rick was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Globus Medical and, under his leadership, helped Globus become one of only four successful medical device IPOs in all of 2012. He also served in the same role for Animas Corporation during which he led the successful IPO of the company and its eventual sale to Johnson & Johnson company for $512 million in 2006. As a board member Rick is a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Aspire Bariatrics, Inc. a commercial stage device company.

Rick also was the Chief Financial Officer for Zynerba Pharmaceuticals as Vice President Finance / CFO where he took the company public in 2015. Mr. Baron also previously served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Avid Radiopharmaceuticals, a biotech company developing an imaging agent for Alzheimer’s, which was sold to Eli Lilly. Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Baron served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of eResearch Technology, Inc (NASDAQ: ERES).

Prior to that time, Mr. Baron served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Genex Services, a managed care provider for workers compensation and disability and Marsam Pharmaceuticals Inc., a generic manufacturer of injectable anti-infectives and was a manager with the Financial Advisory Services and Emerging Business Services groups at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Baron holds a B.S. in Economics, concentration in Accounting, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
